The digital printing technology of printing machine manufacturers still needs to be improved, and the shortcomings of the digital printing technology of printing machine manufacturers are mainly manifested in four aspects:
(1) Spray printing speed is slow. Efficiency is money, and the speed of printing largely determines the efficiency of the enterprise. Currently, the fastest digital inkjet printing machine has a printing speed of 150m2/h, but compared to traditional printing machines, it is still far behind and needs further improvement.
(2) Ink costs are high. Although digital inkjet printing does not require screen printing, and the total cost of small-scale production is lower than traditional printing, the price of the ink used is currently much higher than the dyes and pigments used in traditional printing. Therefore, beyond a certain printing length, the ink price will drive the cost of digital inkjet printing to exceed traditional printing. In the future, the price of ink needs to be adjusted reasonably to promote the development of digital inkjet printing.
(3) The combination of new and old technologies. Currently, digital printing technology continues to improve, and the speed of jet printing continues to accelerate. However, there is still a long way to go to catch up with the speed of traditional printing machines. Therefore, using time-saving digital printing machines for proofing or small-scale production, coupled with traditional printing machines for mass production, will be the basic combination model for the printing industry for some time to come. However, there are still difficulties in the integration of new and old technologies, which require further breakthroughs.
(4) Accurate color. Compared to spot color printing in traditional printing, where each set of colors is individually blended with color pastes, a computer based color measurement and matching system can achieve high color accuracy. Even if a certain color paste deviates, it only affects one set of colors. Digital printing is CMYK color mixing printing, where all colors are mixed with four color inks. A small amount of additional influences such as ink differences, differences between print heads, and small changes in the environment during printing can affect the accuracy of a series of colors after color mixing. Therefore, the color accuracy of digital printing is slightly worse than that of traditional printing.
